Oh my goodness, your posts are just hit after hit. I have long been a fan of Sakura Wars, ever since I first caught a glimpse of it on the Sega Saturn. I, ah, I am a tremendous Dreamcast fangirl and one of the Sakura Wars branded limited editions of that console is on my list of treasure I would like to possess and guard with dragon-like zeal for the rest of my days. I digress.
I had no idea that the stage-play had been remade! I genuinely like the original, taking into account that I am a default SM musical fan, it's not that much of a shift in tone for me, but even I realise it is not without fault - I think the pacing suffers quite considerable as they try and strike a balance between the first act framing story and the second act performance. This doesn't stop me from being really, really excited about the idea of a new version of that second act though! It's a shame to read that some of the musical numbers take a hit, but I am more than willing to give this go! Gosh, I never thought there would be a connexion between Sakura Wars and actual theatre, this is so wonderful to discover!
